  I have the refurbished i7 16GB Full HD version, and after 5 days of use, I can confidently vouch for it being an excellent affordable choice for a "fully loaded" laptop including the latest 3D camera with RealSense by Intel. I compared several similar 15.6" units from Lenovo, HP, ASUS (that were similarly priced new or refurbished, and had a DVDRW), and preferred the velvety feel of the surfaces surrounding the DELL keyboard, and the feel of its touchpad and keys. The touchpad on the DELL is a lot more responsive and confident in feel than the current model HP Pavillion, for example. So is the overall housing design - the HP is actually a bit "cheap" in feeling, which is a step or more back from my 4-year old 17" HP Pavillion DV7. The Lenovo and ASUS models still don't match up to the build quality and feel of the DELL. In general the other competitive products don't seem to be designed and built as well; the DELL has no ugly seams and appears to be robust while slightly heavier than some of the others. Backlit keys are a luxury feature, great in dimly lighted areas. Refurbished product seems to come with a lot less bloatware. Battery life can easily be improved by enduser - by switching off backlit key feature and dimming screen to a comfortable viewing level; I can get about 5+ hours easily with browser, MS WORD, EXCEL and MS Project running concurrently without streaming music through speakers or watching DVD videos. Full HD display is much better than regular HD, don't hesitate to spring for Full HD if you can afford it.

  I've had this for a couple of months now. Great machine.Keyboard is good, display is good, touchscreen is good. Sound is reasonably good. Fine for movies and occasional music.This model is the I7 processor, 8GB RAM, 1 TB SATA hard drive and DVD optical drive.Love having the DVD drive and it's becoming rare.15" screen is great for at-home use and bridges the gap between a PC and a laptop really well for in-home use.It's plenty speedy although I'm not running Photoshop or gaming on this.
