This is really an amazing product. Here is a short list of reasons why I chose this product:1. Carrier is a trustworthy company.2. This a/c has 100% copper condensor which is better than an aluminum condensor for so many different reasons.3. It has been given 5 stars in terms of electricity consumption, which means that it consumes less electricity.I wasn't very sure about my decision at the time of ordering, but after using it for almost 20 days, I can definitely say that I made the right choice.

From my personal experience of buying an AC I know ...
Thebanik (Apr 27, 2017)
on Amazon
From my personal experience of buying an AC I know that I was mostly looking to save the recurrent cost, and I was open to buy anything that will save me money in the long run. Which is why I have made this table below of the maximum Power Consumption (and averaging across various brands and ACs) of Different type of ACs available in the market. There might be a few outliers here and there but the below average is from 1000s of samples. Please read the notes below for my observation based on the below table.1 Ton Window AC :3 Star : 1050 - 1150 Watts5 Star : 1000 - 1100 Watts1 Ton Split AC (The evaporator/indoor unit power consumption is very less, so only compressor power is considered) :3 Star : 1050 - 1150 Watts5 Star : 1000 - 1100 Watts1.5 Ton Window AC :2 Star : More than 1750 Watts3 Star : 1550 - 1700 Watts5 Star : 1450 - 1550 Watts1.5 Ton Split AC (The evaporator/indoor unit power consumption is very less, so only compressor power is considered) :2 Star : More than 1700 Watts3 Star : 1550 - 1650 Watts5 Star : 1400 - 1450 WattsAs a very rough calculation, I will say every extra 200 Watts running for 5 hours (compressor run time, not AC) will cost you an extra Rs.200 per month. For example an AC running at 1400 Watts will have a lower bill of Rs. 200 than an AC running at 1600 Watts if they both run for 5 hours daily. Ofcourse there are other variables in the calculation as well.Observational Notes :1) There is not enough saving between 3 Star & 5 Star rating ACs to save a huge amount of money IMO.2) If Possible going for a lesser tonnage AC, will save a decent amount of money in the monthly bill.3) Ofcourse second step also includes finding the Cooling Wattage of the AC, so just to add Stars awarded are based on the cooling capacity wattage divided by power consumption wattage, which gives EER of a unit.4) There is not much difference between Split and Window AC as far as saving electricity bills is concerned.5) Inverter ACs are a different beast and none of the above points apply to Inverter AC.Breaking Down specs of the specific AC :Point 1 : 1436 Watts Copper Compressor, which is one of the lowest wattage compressor for a 1.5 Ton AC.Point 2 : Cooling Capacity not mentioned, hence we can only go by Energy rating of 5 Stars.Point 3 : R22 Coolant, which is HCFC and causes Ozone Depletion. However is very readily available for refilling.Point 4 : Brand Name of carrier, which definitely makes some of the longest lasting compressors around.Just to add a bit about the particular AC, it has good EER based on which stars are awarded. This AC with its very decent cooling capacity and one of the lowest wattage compressor around which will save you quite a big chunk of money monthly depending upon your usage. However all this comes at a huge initial payment. Personally for all the positives just because of the price I would have skipped this AC.

Very nice A/CCools instantly. One needs to check the dimensions of the compressor since it is cylindrical.I had to do few changes in the window exterior grill so as to accommodate the outdoor unit.Overall a very good product, good price offered by Amazon and prompt delivery/installation.Thanks.

Double check all dimensions of Unit to make sure it fits properly for both Indoor and Outdoor units..
Joe Peter (Mar 15, 2018)
on Amazon
I only checked the dimensions of the outdoor unit and it fit so I ordered it. Called carrier to have ti installed and they said rs1500 plus GST.So he came and took it all out and stuff and went to install the indoor unit and he came back with well it wont fit. The hold made in the concrete by the core cutters which also cost rs1000 to do was made for a 1T AC unit. It was 1 inch too high and the unit would hit the ceiling. You have no choice since the water drain pipe HAS to be below the indoor unit or water will leak inside. So then it was a mess as not knowing what to do. Well the building care taker took a look and was smart enough to find a place to drill another hold which did not have the concrete metal supports to drill through which took over an hour to do. Normally the hole should have been done originally like this but they did it for a 1T unit which has a smaller indoor unit. And you should know unlike a core cutting crew which has equipment to do a neat hole, making a hole sends dust and cement and rocks everywhere and it was a real mess.It is worth the rs1000 and have them do a proper job unless you dont care about neatness and dust everywhere and I mean it gets everywhere..The unit is also louder, maybe because it is under the window blowing air UP rather than air away from you. No way to test this since it is a huge drop on the outside.. But it does fit in the small window ledge and I could not install 2 of my older AC units which were too large to fit in the space. Oh yea 5 STAR units are bigger than 3 star units.. Both indoor as well as outdoor units so this was a huge exercise to find an AC that would fit.Since everything was already done like wiring and such it was relatively simple after making the hole.Did I mention carrier dont make 1.2T units in 2018? The outdoor unit size is the same as the 1T unit and only the indoor has a larger unit. So more air flow..But compared to my other units the swings and swill on this unit are the pits.. You would think a 5Star unit costing so much would have all that. Guess that the difference between Korean/Japanese and American companies. Anything besides the unit is well extra and cost an arm and a leg. Then whats the things on the remote for?? You can press it to swing manually but the side ways you have to climb up and push it by hand.ok it works and cools and has some stuff like the fan goes into a slower mode when the outdoor unit is not active, guess that saves some electricity but there is no air flow then.. This 1.2T is actually bigger than my 1.6T (Yes LG made a special unit designed only once which was highly efficient but did not continue with it)) LG unit and has less air flow and far less functionality. Now it was time to pay for installation and he did not know how much to charge,, He said Carrier pays him for installation.. Then said oh that is only for 2018 units. Since I bought this in Dec 2017 I would have to pay rs1200.. So by 2 weeks I lost rs1200.. I am not sure if there was any charge and he made it up but since Carrier told em the cost would be like rs1800 I did not argue. Seems if the Carrier employees are sent to install they do it for free. But they are few and always busy doing warranty service so they send contractors who charge you. This seems the same as what I found out with LG. He took photos of my online invoice and serial numbers and such for the warranty service.. Seemed unhappy I bought it online than the retail shop down the street.. mumbled something about damage and not trust worthy wont stand behind product etc etc..Compared to my other units the unit facing UP causes more noise than the Units facing outwards. It does take longer to cool my room than the bigger unit but it seems to do its job for a 280 Sqft room facing the sun.. It is better to have a smaller unit that is active more time to remove moisture from the room since my larger unit was only active like 25% of the time while this is more like 35% of the time. But this will increase during days when the humidity is higher.. The temperature is not the main problem but the humidity..I suppose now people have to buy the 1T unit or the 1.5T unit.. I would go for the 1T rather than the 1.5T unit..

Awesome love the product and you have to pay 1500 for installation and the stand of the AC will be charged 750 and you will not get any drainage pipe so that will cost 150-300 rupees as you need and it's good product as I got it for 30k that includes installation charges.

Good price Good colling nice brand but installation system is so bad by carrier l purchase from Amazon when I ask for Installation they charge 1500 + Gst and old ac removing charges 750 which I had remove from my technician friend in just 350, stand for outdoor unit they charged 850 but same stand I brought from shop in just 300 when person came for installation he is asking extra 250 for stand fitting and arguing with me for the same because I had purchased stand. when everything's was redy ( hole in wall out door stand fitted ) i don't know why they are charged so much money for installation this is a very bad experience for me so plz I am requesting carrier to look in this matter and take needful action about installations.5 star for Ac and 1 star for installation

The packaging or the equipment does not have 1.5 tons specified in their body. This raises doubt about the tonnage as 1 ton model is also available. No installation is done as promised.

AC is good comsumes less electricity compared to other 5 star AC only downside is that internal blower fins cannot be adjusted remotely.Outer of this unit is great it saves a lot of space and is quiet also electricity savings are because of this new technology only.

I'm writing this review after three months usage. It is good with respect to its capacity for smaller size room. But not suitable for bigger size room. The louver design may be improved. The fan air flow rate is considerably lower. In simple words it is not a powerful AC but economical.

Only worked till 1 year 2 month , AC stopped working now , have to pay again to get it checked + rectified, just Carrier visit cost is INR 400 / visit , rest all will depend on actual fault, a month back the last service under warranty was done & nothing reported abnormal till then. not happy with carrier quality this time or may be this model. ( I have other ACs also Hitachi & Panasonic which are all very nice working since last 10+ yrs)
